Acclaim Entertainment was an American video game company founded in 1987 that was one of the most prominent video game publishers of the 1990s. The company published games for the Nintendo, Sega, PlayStation, Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, and PC platforms and was behind a number of successful franchises that have become part of gaming history.

The company’s best-known titles include Turok, Shadow Man, Burnout, Extreme-G, Re-Volt, Forsaken, All-Star Baseball, and the wrestling series WWF WrestleMania and ECW Hardcore Revolution. Acclaim was best known for its action games, racing titles, and adaptations of popular comic book and sports franchises.

The company was known for its bold marketing and support of innovative gaming projects. The Turok series, for example, became one of the most successful FPS games on the Nintendo 64, while the first installments of the Burnout series laid the groundwork for modern arcade racing games.
