The studio was founded by the well-known comic book artist Joe Madureira, who had previously co-founded Vigil Games and contributed to the creation of the Darksiders series. Following the closure of Vigil Games, he continued working with his team under the new name Airship Syndicate.
The studio’s first major project was the RPG Battle Chasers: Nightwar, inspired by Joe Madureira’s comic of the same name. The game gained acclaim for its turn-based combat, sophisticated character progression system and distinctive comic-book visual style.
The studio followed up this success with the action RPG Darksiders Genesis, which expanded the world of the Darksiders series with a new story told from an isometric perspective. Players take on the roles of the Horsemen of the Apocalypse, War and Strife, and engage in dynamic combat sequences packed with action, puzzles and exploration.
Other notable titles include Ruined King: A League of Legends Story, a narrative-driven RPG set in the world of Runeterra, and the online action RPG Wayfinder, which combines co-op gameplay, exploration of a vast fantasy world and fast-paced combat.
Airship Syndicate is renowned for its unique comic-book art style, high-quality RPG mechanics and emphasis on compelling narratives. Thanks to games such as Battle Chasers: Nightwar, Darksiders Genesis, Ruined King and Wayfinder, the studio has built an excellent reputation amongst fans of action RPGs, and its titles are released on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch and PC.
