Airtight Games
Brand's website: Airtight GamesAirtight Games was an American development studio founded in 2004 in Redmond, Washington. The studio was founded by a group of experienced developers who had previously worked on the legendary Crimson Skies, MechWarrior and Halo series. Thanks to their experience, Airtight Games quickly established itself as one of the most talented independent studios.
The studio’s first major project was the action game Dark Void, which combined a classic third-person shooter with jetpack flight. The game offered an unusual blend of ground and aerial combat, set in an original sci-fi environment.
Another successful title was the puzzle game Quantum Conundrum, led by Kim Swift, lead designer of the famous Portal. In it, players solved puzzles by manipulating different dimensions and the physical properties of the surrounding world.
The studio’s final major project was the detective adventure Murdered: Soul Suspect, in which players take on the role of a murdered detective investigating his own killer. The game attracted attention for its original story, supernatural atmosphere and unconventional, investigation-focused gameplay.
Although Airtight Games ceased operations in 2014, it left behind several original games that stood out for their fresh ideas and emphasis on innovative gameplay mechanics. The studio’s titles remain among the most interesting projects of their generation and serve as a testament to the creativity of the developers behind some of the best-known game series.
