Appaloosa Interactive
Appaloosa Interactive was a Hungarian game studio founded in 1983 under the original name Novotrade International. It was one of the most prominent developers in Central Europe and, during its existence, created dozens of games for the Sega, PlayStation, Dreamcast, PC, and other platforms.
The studio became famous primarily for the Ecco the Dolphin series, which took players into a fascinating underwater world full of adventure, puzzles, and ocean exploration. Other well-known titles include Ecco: Defender of the Future, Adventure Pinball: Forgotten Island, Kolibri, Reign of Fire, and The Sum of All Fears.
Games from Appaloosa Interactive were known for their original ideas, high-quality technical execution, and genre diversity. The studio was able to create action games, adventure games, simulators, and arcade titles that found fans all over the world.
Although the studio ceased operations in 2006, Appaloosa Interactive left a significant mark on the history of video games. Thanks to the Ecco the Dolphin series and other successful projects, it ranks among the most significant game studios ever established in Central Europe.
