Artefacts Studio

Artefacts Studio is a French game development studio founded in 2003 and based in Lyon. Throughout its history, it has worked on dozens of titles across various genres for PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch and PC. The studio focuses on both in-house development and collaborations with other game companies and publishers.

One of the studio’s best-known titles is the tactical RPG The Dungeon of Naheulbeuk: The Amulet of Chaos. The game combines turn-based tactical combat, dungeon exploration and distinctive humour in a fantasy world that parodies classic RPGs and their heroes.

The studio has also created the turn-based tactical strategy game Crown Wars: The Black Prince, set during the Hundred Years’ War. Players manage their own estates, assemble a group of warriors and take part in tactical battles in a darkly rendered medieval world.

Artefacts Studio also has experience with racing games. For example, it contributed to Moto Racer 4, which combines road motorcycle and motocross racing. The studio’s portfolio also includes the racing title Off Road Racing, which features races involving quad bikes, motorbikes and other off-road vehicles on a variety of tracks.

The studio has also worked on other games and licensed projects, including, for example, Agatha Christie: The ABC Murders, Garfield Kart: Furious Racing and Space Hulk: Tactics. Its portfolio thus ranges from racing and adventure games to sophisticated tactical strategy and RPGs.

Artefacts Studio is renowned for its genre diversity and many years’ experience in developing both console and PC games. Thanks to titles such as The Dungeon of Naheulbeuk: The Amulet of Chaos, Crown Wars: The Black Prince, Moto Racer 4, Off Road Racing and Space Hulk: Tactics, it ranks among France’s established development studios.
