Bimboosoft

Bimboosoft Co., Ltd. is a Japanese games studio founded in 1998 and based in Saitama Prefecture. Since its inception, it has focused primarily on the development of simulation games, which have been released on the Dreamcast, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and PC platforms.

The studio achieved its greatest recognition thanks to the Jet Coaster Dream series, also known outside Japan as Coaster Works. In this series, players design and build their own rollercoasters, manage an amusement park and complete various scenarios. This series was followed by the game Rollercoaster World for PlayStation 2, which offered even greater possibilities for creating attractions and managing the park.

As well as amusement parks, Bimboosoft has also focused on sports games. Among its better-known titles are Dream Match Tennis, a realistic tennis simulator for PC, and Boku no Tennis Jinsei for the Dreamcast. In later years, the studio also released Battle of Tiles, Fragile Ball, Rollercoaster Dreams for PlayStation VR and Dream Match Tennis VR, thereby expanding its expertise into the field of virtual reality.

Unlike the major Japanese developers, Bimboosoft focuses on smaller, original projects centred primarily on simulations and sports games. Thanks to this specialisation, the studio has built up a loyal community of fans who appreciate its emphasis on playability and sophisticated game mechanics. To this day, it remains one of the independent Japanese studios continuing to develop its own game franchises.
