During its more than twenty years in operation, it was one of the largest independent studios in the United Kingdom and developed over 200 video games for PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, and PC.
The studio’s best-known titles include SpongeBob SquarePants: Creature from the Krusty Krab, the Tak and the Power of Juju series, Tak 2: The Staff of Dreams, Tak: The Great Juju Challenge, Pac-Man World Rally, Dead to Rights II, Fuzion Frenzy 2, Yu-Gi-Oh! The Falsebound Kingdom, The Fairly OddParents: Breakin' Da Rules, Bratz: Rock Angelz, Chicken Run, The Mummy Returns, and Action Man: Operation Extreme.
Games from Blitz Games were known for their varied gameplay, humor, and focus on a family audience. The studio contributed to the development of many licensed games based on popular movies, TV series, and animated fairy tales. In addition to children’s titles, it also created action games, racing games, and adventure games for older players.
Thanks to its proprietary BlitzTech Engine technology, the studio was able to develop games for a wide range of platforms and collaborated with leading publishers such as Activision, THQ, Disney Interactive, Nickelodeon, Microsoft, Electronic Arts, and Namco. Although the studio closed in 2013, Blitz Games Studios left a significant mark on the history of video games, and its titles remain among the beloved classics of the PlayStation 2, Xbox, and GameCube eras.
