Blue Isle Studios

Blue Isle Studios is a Canadian development studio founded in 2012 and based in Toronto. The studio was founded by former developers from Digital Extremes and, since its inception, has focused on developing action games, horror titles and open-world games for PlayStation, Xbox and PC.

The studio’s first major success was the psychological horror game Slender: The Arrival, the official sequel to the internet phenomenon Slender Man. The game offered a significantly more elaborate story, modern graphics and an intense atmosphere, making it one of the best-known horror games of its generation. In 2023, a significantly enhanced anniversary edition was also released, utilising Unreal Engine 5.

Another major project is the action-adventure game Valley, in which players use a special exoskeleton known as the L.E.A.F. Suit. This allows for extremely fast movement, high jumps and the manipulation of the life energy of the surrounding world. The game has captivated players with its original gameplay mechanics, beautiful environments and emphasis on exploration.

The studio has also created the fantasy survival game Citadel: Forged with Fire, which combines building, crafting, magic and exploration of a vast open world, and the team-based sci-fi shooter LEAP, focused on fast-paced online battles utilising futuristic weapons, vehicles and jetpacks.

Blue Isle Studios is known for its use of modern technology, its emphasis on atmosphere, and for creating games that blend action, exploration and original gameplay mechanics. The studio regularly supports its titles with updates and new content.

Thanks to games such as Slender: The Arrival, Valley, Citadel: Forged with Fire and LEAP, Blue Isle Studios ranks amongst Canada’s most respected game studios. Their titles are available on PlayStation, Xbox and PC.
