Brand's website: Budcat CreationsBudcat Creations was an American games studio founded in 2000 in the state of Iowa. It was best known for developing and porting games for the PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Wii, Xbox 360 and other platforms. In 2008, the studio became part of Activision.
Its greatest success came with the Guitar Hero series, for which it helped develop versions for the Nintendo Wii and PlayStation 2. The studio was also behind titles such as Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock, Guitar Hero World Tour, Guitar Hero 5, Band Hero and Guitar Hero: Metallica, which helped popularise music games around the world.
In addition to music games, Budcat Creations was also involved in porting other popular titles between different platforms. The studio built a reputation as a reliable developer capable of maintaining the quality of games even on technically different consoles.
In 2010, the studio was closed as part of Activision’s restructuring. Nevertheless, its work remains a significant part of the history of the Guitar Hero series, which defined the era of music games in the second half of the 2000s.
