Cat Daddy Games

Brand's website: Cat Daddy Games

Cat Daddy Games is an American games development studio founded in 1996 and based in Kirkland, Washington. Throughout its history, it has created a large number of titles for PCs, consoles and mobile devices. It is best known for its family, party and licensed games.

One of the studio’s greatest successes is the Carnival Games series. The original game made a significant impact on the Nintendo Wii, where it utilised the Wii Remote’s motion controls to simulate various fairground attractions and competitions.

Players can try their hand at a range of simple challenges inspired by classic fairground stalls – such as target throwing, basketball, shooting, accuracy tests and other mini-games. Thanks to its simple controls and multiplayer mode, the series was primarily aimed at family and social gaming.

This success was followed by further games, including New Carnival Games, which introduced new attractions and mini-games. The series has gradually been released on several Nintendo, PlayStation and Xbox consoles.

Cat Daddy Games has also created several titles based on the TV game show Deal or No Deal. The games adapt the concept of the well-known TV show into an interactive format, in which the player selects briefcases containing various sums of money and decides whether to accept the banker’s offer.

The studio’s earlier portfolio also includes a number of PC titles, such as Ski Resort Tycoon, Cruise Ship Tycoon, School Tycoon and Snowboard Park Tycoon. These games centred on building and managing one’s own business or resort.

A significant milestone in the studio’s history was the year 2003, when Cat Daddy Games was acquired by Take-Two Interactive. The studio subsequently became part of its structure and was later closely associated with the 2K brand.

Cat Daddy also gradually shifted its focus to mobile games. Among its notable recent projects is WWE SuperCard, a card game utilising the extensive WWE licence and featuring real-life wrestling stars.

The studio has also worked on mobile games based on other well-known brands, gradually shifting its focus from classic PC and console titles to long-term mobile projects.

Thanks to the Carnival Games series, the Deal or No Deal games, older titles in the Tycoon series and the mobile game WWE SuperCard, Cat Daddy Games is one of the long-established American studios focusing primarily on accessible, family-friendly and licensed games.
