Daedalic Entertainment

Daedalic Entertainment is a German games studio founded in 2007 in Hamburg. The studio has built up an excellent reputation, primarily thanks to its high-quality adventure games featuring well-crafted stories, an unmistakable art style and a distinctive sense of humour. In addition to its own development work, it has gradually established itself as one of Europe’s leading publishers of independent games.

Its greatest success has come with the Deponia series, which follows the adventures of the eccentric inventor Rufus in a post-apocalyptic world full of original characters, logic puzzles and humour. The series ranks among the most successful modern point-and-click adventure games and has gained fans all over the world.

The studio has also created acclaimed adventure games set in the world of The Dark Eye, including Chains of Satinav and Memoria, as well as titles such as The Whispered World, A New Beginning, The Night of the Rabbit, State of Mind and The Pillars of the Earth, inspired by Ken Follett’s novel of the same name.

As a publisher, Daedalic Entertainment has collaborated on a number of successful games, such as Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun, Barotrauma, Inkulinati, Unrailed! and Fling to the Finish. In 2023, the studio announced the end of its in-house development and shifted its focus primarily to publishing and supporting independent developers.

Thanks to games such as Deponia, The Dark Eye, The Whispered World and The Pillars of the Earth, Daedalic Entertainment ranks among Germany’s leading adventure game studios. Their titles are available on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch and PC, and have won numerous awards for their storytelling, art design and atmosphere.
