Frontier Developments

Frontier Developments is a British games studio founded in 1994 by the legendary developer David Braben, co-creator of the cult space game Elite. The studio is based in Cambridge and, over the course of its history, has established itself as one of Europe’s most respected developers of strategy, simulation and space games.

One of the studio’s first major successes was RollerCoaster Tycoon 3, which brought theme park building into a fully 3D environment and remains one of the most successful simulators of its kind to this day. This success was followed by the modern simulations Planet Coaster and Planet Zoo, which offer players detailed park construction, a sophisticated economy and extensive customisation options.

Frontier Developments is also the creator of the space simulator Elite Dangerous, which builds on the legendary Elite series.
