Grimlore Games

Grimlore Games is a German game development studio based in Munich, which focuses primarily on large-scale RPGs and strategy games. The studio was founded in 2013 and is part of the THQ Nordic group. The team consists of developers with experience in RPGs, real-time strategy and other genres.

The studio’s most prominent franchise is SpellForce. Grimlore Games created SpellForce 3, which combines classic RPG elements with real-time strategy. Players control a group of heroes, developing their abilities and equipment, whilst simultaneously building bases, gathering resources and commanding large armies.

The studio subsequently continued to expand SpellForce 3 through the standalone expansions SpellForce 3: Soul Harvest and SpellForce 3: Fallen God. The game was later reworked into the SpellForce III Reforced edition, which introduced a number of adjustments to the game systems and enabled the game’s release on PlayStation and Xbox consoles as well.

Another major project by the studio is Titan Quest II, the sequel to the well-known action RPG inspired by Greek mythology. Players venture into a world of gods and mythical monsters, battle hordes of enemies, acquire equipment and combine various abilities through a sophisticated character progression system.

Titan Quest II builds on the spirit of the original Titan Quest, whilst utilising modern technology and significantly more sophisticated graphics. Grimlore Games emphasises world exploration, creating your own combinations of abilities, acquiring loot and dynamic combat against creatures from ancient mythology.

Grimlore Games specialises in games featuring complex RPG systems, vast fantasy worlds and tactical combat. Thanks to the SpellForce 3 series and the development of Titan Quest II, it ranks among the leading German studios specialising in RPGs and strategy games.
