Halo Studios
Brand's website: Halo StudiosHalo Studios is an American games studio based in Redmond, Washington, which forms part of Xbox Game Studios. The studio was founded in 2007 under the name 343 Industries with a single aim – to take over the development of the legendary Halo series from Bungie.
Following Bungie’s departure, the studio took charge not only of developing new games, but also of managing the entire Halo brand. Its first major project was Halo 4, followed by Halo 5: Guardians and Halo Infinite. Alongside the main series, the studio also produced Halo: The Master Chief Collection, which brought together the classic Halo titles on modern platforms.
In addition to the games themselves, the studio is also involved in expanding the Halo universe through books, animated projects, esports competitions and collaborations with other partners. The Halo brand thus remains one of the most significant exclusive series for Xbox consoles.
In 2024, the studio announced a name change from 343 Industries to Halo Studios. At the same time, it unveiled the transition to Unreal Engine 5, which replaced the previously used Slipspace engine. The aim of this change is to accelerate the development of future games, simplify content creation and take the Halo series to a new technological level.
Thanks to its continuation of Bungie’s legacy, its long-term commitment to the Halo series and its investment in modern technologies, Halo Studios ranks among Microsoft’s most important development studios and continues to shape the future of one of the most famous FPS series of all time.
