High Voltage Software

High Voltage Software is an American video game development studio founded in 1993. Over more than three decades in business, it has worked on a large number of games for PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, PC and other platforms. In addition to its own projects, it also specialises in porting and developing games based on well-known licences.

One of the studio’s best-known original franchises is The Conduit. This sci-fi first-person shooter, developed for the Nintendo Wii, featured an alien invasion of Earth and, for its time, unusually sophisticated technical execution for that console. The first game was later followed by a sequel, Conduit 2.

The Ben 10 franchise is also significant for your catalogue. For example, High Voltage Software developed Ben 10: Omniverse 2, an action game based on the popular animated series. Players control Ben Tennyson and, using the Omnitrix, can transform into various alien forms with different abilities.

The studio has also worked on Ben 10: Galactic Racing, an arcade racing game in which characters and aliens from the Ben 10 universe compete against one another. Each character has their own abilities that can be used during races.

High Voltage Software also has extensive experience with fighting games. For example, it has contributed to certain versions and ports of titles from the Mortal Kombat and Injustice series. With these games, however, it is important to distinguish between the lead developer and the studio responsible for a specific port or technical collaboration.

The studio’s history also includes games such as Hunter: The Reckoning – Redeemer, Leisure Suit Larry: Magna Cum Laude, Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law and Victorious: Time to Shine. As a result, High Voltage Software’s portfolio is very diverse in terms of genre.

The studio has also gradually focused more and more on collaboration with major gaming companies. It has contributed to the development or technical support of a number of large-scale projects and has collaborated, for example, on brands such as Fortnite.

In 2020, High Voltage Software became part of Keywords Studios, whilst continuing to develop and collaborate on video games.

Thanks to the The Conduit series, the games Ben 10: Omniverse 2 and Ben 10: Galactic Racing, and its work on many other well-known franchises, High Voltage Software ranks amongst the long-established American game studios with extensive experience spanning several generations of consoles.
