Illusion Softworks was a legendary Czech game studio founded in 1997 in Brno. Within a short time, the studio became one of the most successful developers in Central Europe and brought worldwide fame to the Czech Republic thanks to its high-quality and ambitious games.

The company’s greatest fame came from the Mafia series, which became one of the most acclaimed narrative action games of all time. In it, players were transported to the American underworld of the 1930s and experienced the gripping story of taxi driver Tommy Angelo. Other notable titles from the studio include Hidden & Dangerous, Vietcong, Chameleon, and Hidden & Dangerous 2.

Games from Illusion Softworks were known for their emphasis on realistic atmosphere, strong storytelling, high-quality voice acting, and technical execution that often surpassed the competition of its time. Thanks to the Mafia and Vietcong series, the studio gained millions of fans around the world.

In 2008, the studio was renamed 2K Czech, under which it continued developing the Mafia series. To this day, Illusion Softworks remains one of the most successful Czech game studios in history, and its games are considered cult classics of the gaming industry.
