Infusion Games

Infusion Games Ltd was a British games development studio specialising primarily in console and licensed video games. Its projects included the game Dancing on Ice for the Nintendo Wii, based on the popular British TV competition of the same name.

Dancing on Ice adapts the TV format of the figure-skating competition into an action game. Players take part in individual performances on the ice and aim to correctly execute the choreography, movements and various figure-skating elements.

The game utilises the capabilities of the Wii Remote, so the controls are based on movement and the timing of individual gestures. The player progresses through the competition, aiming to achieve the best possible scores for their performances.

The game draws primarily on the atmosphere of the TV programme Dancing on Ice, in which well-known personalities compete alongside professional figure skaters. Thanks to the licence, the game was aimed primarily at fans of the programme and casual gamers.

Dancing on Ice is part of a large group of family and TV-licensed games that were popular during the Nintendo Wii era. The console’s motion controls were well-suited to similar dance, sports and party titles.

The game was published on the European market by Ghostlight, a British company known not only for Japanese RPGs but also for certain European and licensed projects.
