KING Art Games

KING Art Games is a German development studio founded in 2000 and based in Bremen. The studio specialises in adventure, strategy and RPG games and is one of the most highly regarded independent developers in Germany. It is best known for its emphasis on high-quality storytelling, well-developed characters and a high standard of production.

It gained international recognition thanks to the humorous fantasy adventure The Book of Unwritten Tales, which pays homage to classic point-and-click adventure games. The series is characterised by witty dialogue, original puzzles and numerous references to famous fantasy works and video game classics. The success of the first instalment led to the creation of the sequel The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 and the standalone adventure game The Critter Chronicles.

Another major project by the studio is the real-time strategy game Iron Harvest, inspired by the alternative history of the 1920+ world created by illustrator Jakub Różalski. The game combines tactical battles, control of massive dieselpunk mechs, unit management and an extensive story campaign. Thanks to its high-quality production and community support, it has become one of the most successful modern RTS games.

The studio is also behind the adventure game The Raven – Legacy of a Master Thief, the remastered version of which, The Raven Remastered, featured improved graphics and modernised controls. Other well-known projects include Battle Worlds: Kronos, The Dwarves and The Great Perhaps, on which the studio worked as a developer or publisher.
