Kojima Productions

Kojima Productions is a Japanese video game development studio founded in 2015 by legendary game creator Hideo Kojima after he left Konami. The studio is based in Tokyo and, since its inception, has focused on developing original, cinematic games with an emphasis on strong storytelling, innovative gameplay, and cutting-edge technical execution.

The studio’s first project was the award-winning action-adventure game Death Stranding, which was released in 2019 for the PlayStation 4. In the game, players take on the role of Sam Porter Bridges, portrayed by actor Norman Reedus. The game captivated players with its unique combination of open-world exploration, building connections between players, and an original story. This was later followed by the expanded version Death Stranding Director’s Cut and the sequel Death Stranding 2: On the Beach.

The studio collaborates with leading figures in the film industry, including Norman Reedus, Mads Mikkelsen, Léa Seydoux, Margaret Qualley, Guillermo del Toro, Nicolas Winding Refn, Elle Fanning, and Troy Baker. Thanks to these collaborations, the studio’s games are known for their extraordinary atmosphere, realistic acting, and cinematic presentation.

Although Kojima Productions has only been an independent studio since 2015, its founder, Hideo Kojima, is also behind the legendary Metal Gear series, which has significantly influenced the design of modern stealth action games. The experience gained over decades of development is also reflected in the studio’s new projects.

Today, Kojima Productions ranks among the most respected independent studios in the world. Its games are released on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC platforms and regularly push the boundaries of interactive storytelling and the technological possibilities of video games.
