Kuju Entertainment

Brand's website: Kuju Entertainment

Kuju Entertainment was a British games studio founded in 1998 in Surrey. During its existence, it became one of the UK’s leading independent developers and was involved in the development of games for PlayStation, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Xbox, Xbox 360, Nintendo GameCube, Wii, Nintendo DS and PC.

The studio became best known for the strategic action game Battalion Wars for the Nintendo GameCube and its sequel Battalion Wars 2 for the Wii. Another significant project was the realistic railway simulator Rail Simulator, which laid the foundations for the later successful Train Simulator series.

Kuju Entertainment also contributed to the development of a whole range of well-known licensed titles, including, for example, LotR: Aragorn’s Quest, George of the Jungle and the Search for the Secret, Reign of Fire, Pilot Academy, Crush, The House of the Dead: Overkill – Extended Cut and Naruto: Rise of a Ninja. The studio frequently collaborated with major publishers such as Nintendo, Sony, Codemasters, Sega, THQ, Konami and Warner Bros.

In 2012, the company underwent a reorganisation and split into several independent studios, the best known of which is Headstrong Games. Nevertheless, the name Kuju Entertainment remains associated with a range of high-quality games across many genres – from strategy and simulation to action-adventure.

Thanks to its versatility and many years of experience, Kuju Entertainment ranks among the leading British studios that have made a significant contribution to the development of video games for both consoles and PCs.
