Limbic Entertainment
Brand's website: Limbic EntertainmentLimbic Entertainment is a German development studio founded in 2002 in Langen, near Frankfurt am Main. The studio specialises primarily in strategy, city-building and simulation games and is one of Germany’s leading developers in this genre. Since 2021, it has been part of Bandai Namco Europe.
In its early years, the studio focused primarily on developing and supporting games for various publishers. It gained international recognition for its work on the strategy game Heroes of Might & Magic VII, which continued the legendary turn-based series and offered sophisticated campaigns, city management and tactical combat.
Another significant project was the online survival game Memories of Mars, set on a colonised Mars, where players build bases, gather resources and fight for survival in a hostile environment.
The studio achieved its greatest success with the city-building strategy game Tropico 6, in which players take on the role of El Presidente, the dictator of an island nation. The game allowed players to manage an entire archipelago, build sprawling cities, develop the economy, trade with world powers and govern the nation across several historical periods.
In 2023, the studio released the creative amusement park simulator Park Beyond, which allows players to design attractions that push the boundaries of reality. Thanks to the ‘impossification’ system, players can create incredible rollercoasters and attractions that would be impossible to build in the real world.
Limbic Entertainment is renowned for its high-quality strategy games, its emphasis on player creativity, and its long-term support for its games through updates and expansions.
Thanks to games such as Tropico 6, Park Beyond, Heroes of Might & Magic VII and Memories of Mars, Limbic Entertainment ranks among Germany’s leading game studios. Their titles are available for PlayStation, Xbox and PC.
