NOW PRODUCTION

NOW PRODUCTION is a long-established Japanese development studio founded in 1986 and based in Osaka. Over the course of several decades, the studio has been involved in the development of a large number of console and mobile games and has collaborated with major Japanese publishers, notably Bandai Namco Entertainment and its predecessors.

NOW PRODUCTION often acts as an external developer, which is why its name may not feature as prominently on a game’s packaging as the publisher’s. Throughout its history, the studio has worked on games for a range of systems, from the NES and Super Nintendo through the PlayStation and Nintendo to current-generation consoles.

A significant part of its portfolio consists of games from the Katamari series. For example, NOW PRODUCTION worked on We Love Katamari REROLL+ Royal Reverie, a revamped version of the popular game in which players roll a Katamari and gradually attach ever-larger objects to it.

The studio is also associated with the Pac-Man brand. For example, it has contributed to modern projects based on this legendary arcade series and, throughout its history, has worked on a number of other Bandai Namco titles.

NOW PRODUCTION’s portfolio also includes games from the Digimon universe, anime and licensed projects, as well as titles based on other popular Japanese brands. The studio has experience with action games, RPGs, platformers, puzzle games and family games.

Its older projects also include a number of titles created for PlayStation, PlayStation 2, Nintendo DS, Nintendo 3DS, Wii and other platforms. As a result, NOW PRODUCTION ranks among the most experienced Japanese outsourcing studios with an exceptionally extensive portfolio.

NOW PRODUCTION has been active in the games industry for several decades and has contributed to the development of a large number of games for various publishers. Thanks to its work on the Katamari, Pac-Man and Digimon franchises, as well as many other series, it ranks among Japan’s established game development companies.
