People Can Fly
Brand's website: People Can FlyPeople Can Fly is a Polish game development studio founded in 2002 in Warsaw. It is one of the most successful game studios in Central Europe and has made a name for itself primarily through action shooters featuring fast-paced gameplay, sophisticated combat and impressive visuals.
The studio’s first major success was the cult FPS Painkiller, which gained popularity thanks to its extremely fast-paced action, original weapons, battles against giant bosses and gothic atmosphere. The game became one of the most distinctive shooters of its time and laid the foundations for the studio’s success.
In 2007, People Can Fly became part of Epic Games and, under the name Epic Games Poland, collaborated on the development of Unreal Engine technology and the Gears of War series. Among other things, this resulted in Gears of War: Judgment, which expanded the popular sci-fi series.
After regaining its independence, the studio created the action FPS Bulletstorm, known for its Skillshot system, which rewards players for creatively eliminating enemies. It later also released the co-op action RPG Outriders, which combines intense firefights, RPG elements and extensive character customisation options in a dark sci-fi world.
Alongside its own projects, People Can Fly is involved in the development of major AAA games for leading global publishers. For example, the studio has collaborated on Fortnite, Gears of War, Unreal Engine and other major projects. It is currently also working on several as-yet-unannounced games in collaboration with Microsoft, Sony Interactive Entertainment and Square Enix.
Thanks to games such as Painkiller, Bulletstorm, Gears of War: Judgment and Outriders, People Can Fly ranks among Poland’s most prominent game studios. Their titles are available on PlayStation, Xbox and PC.
