Petroglyph Games

Petroglyph Games is an American development studio founded in 2003 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The studio was founded by former employees of the legendary Westwood Studios, the team behind the famous strategy series Command & Conquer and Dune. Thanks to their experience, Petroglyph quickly established itself as one of the most respected developers of real-time strategy games.

The studio achieved its greatest success with the strategy game Star Wars: Empire at War, which allowed players to wage large-scale ground and space battles within the Star Wars universe. Thanks to its sophisticated strategic map, iconic heroes and spectacular space battles, the game is still considered one of the best strategy games set in the Star Wars universe.

Other notable titles include the sci-fi strategy game Grey Goo, which featured three completely distinct factions and a return to classic RTS gameplay, and the 8-Bit series comprising 8-Bit Armies, 8-Bit Hordes and 8-Bit Invaders, inspired by classic strategy games of the 1990s. The studio has also created Universe at War: Earth Assault, Conan Unconquered and Forged Battalion.

Petroglyph Games is renowned for its sophisticated artificial intelligence, emphasis on strategic depth and classic RTS gameplay. The developers provide long-term support for their games with new content and work closely with the community of strategy game fans.
