Realmforge Studios

Realmforge Studios is a German development studio founded in 2008 in Munich. The studio specialises in strategy, building and management games with a strong sense of humour. Since its inception, it has worked closely with the publisher Kalypso Media, for whom it has created several successful game series.

The studio’s greatest success has come with the Dungeons series, which turns classic fantasy strategy games on their head in an original way. Players take on the role of an underground ruler, building their own dungeons, recruiting monsters, setting traps and defending their treasures from meddlesome heroes. The Dungeons series, including Dungeons 2, Dungeons 3 and Dungeons 4, has gained popularity thanks to its humour, sophisticated underground realm-building and strategic gameplay.

Another major project is Spacebase Startopia, a modern reimagining of the cult-classic building strategy game Startopia. Here, players manage a space station, look after the needs of alien visitors, develop the economy and protect the station from all manner of threats.

The studio’s first well-known title was the humorous adventure game Ceville, which captivated players with its witty dialogue, fairy-tale world and unconventional story. Realmforge Studios is known for its distinctive humour, high-quality game system design and emphasis on replayability.

Thanks to the Dungeons series, Spacebase Startopia and other strategy games, Realmforge Studios ranks among Germany’s leading developers of city-building and management games. Their titles are released for PlayStation, Xbox and PC and have fans all over the world.
