Reflections Interactive

Reflections Interactive was a British game studio founded in 1984 in Newcastle upon Tyne. The studio became famous primarily for developing groundbreaking racing and action games characterized by realistic vehicle physics, a cinematic atmosphere, and open-world cities.

The studio achieved its greatest fame with the Driver series, which defined the car action game genre on the PlayStation console. Titles such as Driver, Driver 2: Back on the Streets, Driver 3 (Driv3r), and Driver: Parallel Lines offered thrilling chases, expansive cities, and the chance to complete missions inspired by Hollywood action movies.

Prior to the Driver series, the studio also created the legendary racing games Shadow of the Beast, Destruction Derby, and Destruction Derby 2, which were among the most successful titles of the first-generation PlayStation console.

In 2006, the studio was acquired by Ubisoft and now operates under the name Ubisoft Reflections. It continues to contribute to the development of major game series such as Assassin’s Creed, Watch Dogs, The Division, Far Cry, and The Crew.

Thanks to its innovative approach to developing racing games and open worlds, Reflections Interactive ranks among the most significant British game studios, and its games remain classics in the history of video games to this day.
