Revolution Software is a British games studio founded in 1990 in York by game designer Charles Cecil. The studio specialises primarily in narrative-driven adventure games and, over more than three decades, has built a reputation as one of Europe’s most respected developers in this genre.

The studio’s greatest fame came from the Broken Sword series, which debuted in 1996 with Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars. The adventures of George Stobbart and Nico Collard won over players around the world thanks to their compelling story, intricate puzzles, unforgettable characters and beautifully hand-drawn graphics.
