Round8 Studio

Round8 Studio is a South Korean development studio based in Sungnam, which forms part of NEOWIZ. The studio specialises in developing modern action RPGs and online games for PlayStation, Xbox and PC. Thanks to its focus on technical quality, sophisticated combat systems and original takes on classic stories, it has established a strong position amongst Korean developers within just a few years.

The studio achieved its greatest success with the action RPG Lies of P, which is loosely based on the story of Pinocchio by Carlo Collodi. Players take on the role of P, a mechanical puppet boy, who journeys through the darkened city of Krat, gripped by madness and a rebellion of automatons. The game combines challenging combat inspired by the soulslike genre, a sophisticated weapon crafting and customisation system, character progression and decisions that influence the course of the story.

Lies of P has earned acclaim for its exceptional atmosphere inspired by the Belle Époque era, detailed graphics created in Unreal Engine 4, well-thought-out boss design and a precise combat system. The game is often ranked amongst the best ‘soulslike’ titles outside the FromSoftware catalogue.

Alongside Lies of P, Round8 Studio is also involved in the development of online games and other projects for NEOWIZ. Following the success of the base game, the studio has continued to expand the franchise through additional content and upcoming sequels.
