Sidhe Interactive

Sidhe Interactive was a New Zealand video game studio founded in 1997 and based in Wellington. The studio primarily specialized in developing sports and racing games, but during its existence it also created several action and arcade titles for consoles and PCs.

It achieved its greatest success with the Rugby Challenge series, which ranks among the most famous rugby video games of all time. Other notable projects include the puzzle-racing game GripShift, the licensed racing title Speed Racer: The Videogame, the futuristic racing series Shatter, the arcade shooter The Mark, and the MotoGP motorcycle games for handheld consoles.

The studio was known for its ability to create technically high-quality games with an emphasis on smooth gameplay and accessibility. Although based in New Zealand, its games were released worldwide, and the studio collaborated with major publishers such as Home Entertainment Suppliers (HES), Zoo Games, Atari, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, and Tru Blu Entertainment.

In 2015, the studio underwent a reorganization and continued under the new name PikPok, which focused primarily on developing successful mobile games. However, the legacy of Sidhe Interactive remains closely associated with high-quality sports and racing titles for PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, and PC.
