SIMS Co., Ltd.

SIMS Co., Ltd. is a Japanese games studio founded in 1991, which, throughout its history, has specialised in developing games for the SEGA, PlayStation, PlayStation 2, Xbox and Nintendo consoles, as well as other platforms. Thanks to its long-standing collaboration with SEGA, the studio has contributed to a number of well-known arcade and console titles.

Among the studio’s best-known games is the fishing series Sega Bass Fishing, which has become one of SEGA’s most successful sports franchises. Thanks to its realistic depiction of fishing, support for specialised controllers and sophisticated gameplay, it has won the hearts of players around the world.

The studio also contributed to the development of the futuristic action game Murakumo: Renegade Mech Pursuit for Xbox, and the fighting series The Rumble Fish and The Rumble Fish 2, which were first released for arcade machines and later ported to home consoles. Other well-known projects include, for example, Castle Shikigami 2, Battle Engine Aquila (ports for certain platforms) and other sports and action games created in collaboration with various publishers.

A key strength of SIMS Co., Ltd. is its ability to develop a wide range of game genres – from sports simulators and action games to fighting games and arcade titles. The studio has built a reputation as a reliable development partner and has collaborated with a number of major Japanese publishers over more than three decades.

SIMS Co., Ltd. remains an active studio to this day and continues to develop video games. Although it is not among Japan’s largest developers, its games are highly regarded by fans of classic consoles for their high-quality gameplay, technical execution and long-standing collaboration with SEGA.
