SomaSim
Brand's website: SomaSimSomaSim is an independent American development studio founded in 2013 in New York. The studio specialises in economic strategy, city-building simulations and management games in which players plan, build and manage their own businesses or cities.
Its greatest success came with the strategy game Project Highrise, which is regarded as the spiritual successor to the classic game SimTower. Players design and manage modern skyscrapers, building offices, flats, restaurants and shops, whilst ensuring the satisfaction of tenants and the financial prosperity of the entire building.
Another well-known game from the studio is City of Gangsters, an economic strategy game set during the American Prohibition era. Players build their own criminal empire, produce and smuggle illegal alcohol, expand their network of contacts, and compete with rival gangs for control of the city.
SomaSim also contributed to the development of the business strategy game Rise of Industry, in which players build industrial enterprises, create production chains and develop their own business empire. The studio’s games are known for their sophisticated economic systems, emphasis on planning and high replay value.
Thanks to its focus on high-quality management and city-building simulations, SomaSim has established a firm foothold amongst independent strategy game developers. Their games are released for PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch and PC, and are particularly popular amongst fans of economic and city-building games.
