Toka S.a.r.l.

Toka S.a.r.l. was a French games studio that was active primarily at the turn of the 1990s and the start of the new millennium. It specialised in developing games for the PlayStation, Game Boy Color, PC and other platforms of the time. The studio frequently collaborated with European publishers on both licensed and original projects.

Among the best-known titles on which Toka S.a.r.l. worked was, for example, The Grinch for PlayStation and PC, inspired by the popular story by Dr Seuss. The studio also worked on other family-friendly and adventure games aimed primarily at younger players.

The studio’s games were characterised by colourful graphics, simple gameplay and a focus on accessibility. Alongside platformers and action-adventure games, Toka also produced adaptations of well-known licences that provided entertainment for the whole family.

Although Toka S.a.r.l. was not among the largest European studios of its time, it left behind several interesting titles that fans of classic PlayStation consoles still remember to this day. Its games are a typical example of European production at the turn of the millennium.
