Visual Concepts

Visual Concepts is an American development studio founded in 1988 by programmer Greg Thomas. The studio is based in Novato, California and is one of the most highly regarded developers of sports video games. Since 2005, it has been part of 2K, which is a subsidiary of the publisher Take-Two Interactive.

The studio’s greatest success is the NBA 2K series, which has long been regarded as the best basketball game series in the world. Thanks to its realistic graphics, faithful recreation of the NBA, sophisticated physics and popular modes such as MyCAREER, MyTEAM and MyNBA, it attracts millions of players every year.

Visual Concepts is also behind the WWE 2K and, previously, the NFL 2K series, which have delivered realistic portrayals of American football and professional wrestling. The studio has also contributed to the development of games such as College Hoops 2K, MLB 2K, Top Spin, All-Pro Football 2K8 and The Club.
