Warthog Games

Warthog Games was a British games studio founded in 1997 in Cheadle, England. The studio was formed after a number of developers left Gremlin Interactive and, within a few years, built up a strong reputation for developing action, racing and licensed games for PlayStation, PlayStation 2, Xbox, GameCube, Game Boy Advance and PC.

The studio’s best-known titles include Starsky & Hutch, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (Game Boy Advance), Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (Game Boy Advance), Stupid Invaders, Tom and Jerry in War of the Whiskers, Asterix & Obelix XXL (Game Boy Advance) and Porky Pig’s Haunted Holiday.

Games from Warthog Games were known for their varied gameplay, high-quality adaptation of licensed brands and their ability to bring popular films and TV series to gaming consoles. The studio also focused on developing original projects and technically impressive versions of games for handheld platforms.

In 2004, Tiger Telematics acquired Warthog’s parent company, but following its financial collapse, the studio was closed in 2006. Nevertheless, it left behind a number of high-quality titles that fans of classic console games still remember to this day.

If you enjoy racing games, action-adventure games or classic licensed titles from the PlayStation 2 and original Xbox eras, the work of Warthog Games is definitely worth checking out.
