Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life is the second game in the Harvest Moon series to appear on PS2. It is almost identical to the original GameCube version, but carries some new features that give it the title of Special Edition, as there is no regular release for this platform.
The game simulates daily farm chores. When the player's character arrives in the Valley of the Grease, he gets to tour his new farm and starts with a few seeds and one cow. The game is divided into different chapters that end when certain requirements are met. Tasks include raising and caring for cattle, fishing, cooking, sowing seeds, and trading goods with local merchants. The player can also explore the valley and meet its inhabitants.
New features for the PS2 version include up to four wives to marry, a son or daughter with a mini-career, new farming equipment such as a fertilizer machine, and a free play mode to continue the game when all chapters are completed.
