Warriors of Rock shares core gameplay elements with its predecessors, but introduces a new story mode in which the player must recruit eight characters - each with a unique ability that alters the game's mechanics - to help defeat an antagonist known as "The Beast".
Like previous games in the series, Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock is a rhythm game that allows up to four people to play in a band on vocals, lead and bass/rhythm guitars, and drums using special instrument controllers to simulate rock music.
