PlayStation is a game console from Sony Corporation. The console was released first in Japan on 3 December 1994 and then in the rest of the world during 1995. This console was the first of the now highly successful PlayStation family, which consists of both standard consoles and portable variants.

In addition to gaming, the PlayStation allowed it to enable music CDs (model SCPH-5903 take Video CD format). Overlooking it allowed unexpectedly listing songs in order or randomly and having to repeat one available song or the entire CD. Later models featured an improved player called SoundScope. The PlayStation thus had a memory card manager where the user could manage their own routines from it.

The graphical user interface was different depending on the model of the console. The first models pictured a dark blue background with graffiti like buttons and later versions for the PAL region a gray background with two icons in the middle.
