Soviet Strike for PlayStation is an action-packed helicopter simulation from EA Pacific, which follows on from Electronic Arts’ successful Strike series. Players take on the role of

an elite combat helicopter pilot, whose mission is to stop a dangerous military organisation seeking to restore the power of the former Soviet Union.

The story is told through cinematic cutscenes featuring live-action actors, which lend the game the atmosphere of an action-packed war film. Missions take you to a variety of locations teeming with enemy bases, armoured vehicles, air defences and strategic targets that must be destroyed.

Throughout the game, you pilot a modern attack helicopter equipped with a machine gun, unguided rockets, guided missiles and other armament. Each mission offers several main and side objectives, with success often depending on the careful management of ammunition, fuel and armour. On the maps, you can also search for supply depots or rescue allied units.

The game combines arcade-style controls with tactical elements and allows free movement across vast battlefields. This enables players to choose the order in which they complete certain tasks and how they attack enemy targets.
