PS1 Moto Racer 2 is really two racing games in one, you can choose terrain or road. The game has 32 tracks, some of which are dirt-arena type with jumps that allow you to do tricks in the air, while others are city streets that allow you to reach speeds of up to 200 mph.

There are two game modes to choose from, arcade and simulation, which actually makes a big enough difference for now. The simulation mode requires your experience, which means you have to be aware of your speed when cornering so that the back of the bike doesn't slip and cause a terrible crash. For players who want to go fast and not worry about physics, they have an arcade mode. Here, you basically hold down the throttle button and go as fast as possible until you crash.

You can also choose between different racing settings. You can choose to exclusively race on the streets or off-road, or race in a mixed competition that has races with both styles of motorcycles. The AI of the computer racers you race against has improved significantly since the first game. The two-player split-screen mode is as fun as ever.
