Killzone is a first-person action shooter game developed by Guerrilla Games and published by Sony Computer Entertainment for the PlayStation 2 console. The game was released in 2004 and has become one of the most well-known and successful titles on the PlayStation platform.

Killzone is set in a futuristic sci-fi world where three factions - the ISA (Interplanetary Strategic Alliance), Helghast and the Vektans - fight for supremacy. The game focuses on the conflict between the ISA and the Helghast, an evil regime attempting to take over the planet Vekta.

Players have a choice of four different characters, each with their own unique abilities and weapons. These characters include Captain Templar, Sergeant Rico Velasquez, Staff Captain Hakh, and Gunnery Sergeant Luga. Players are taken through various levels in which they must fight enemies, complete quests, and progress through the story.

Killzone offers several game modes, including a single-player campaign where players progress through linear levels and follow the story, and a multiplayer mode where players can compete against other players in various game modes such as Team Deathmatch, Assault and Domination.
