Need for Speed: Carbon is a racing video game developed by EA Black Box and published by Electronic Arts. The game was released in 2006 for multiple platforms including PlayStation 2 and is the tenth installment of the popular Need for Speed racing series. This installment picks up where the previous game, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, left off, bringing several innovations and changes to the racing genre.

Need for Speed: Carbon is set in Palmont City, where players must compete against various gangs and racers to gain control of the city. The game features a "territorial" system in which players must win races and gain territory on a map of the city.

One of the major new features in Need for Speed: Carbon is the introduction of a "wingman" - a member of your team who assists you during races. A wingman can either be a "blocker" who tries to slow down your opponents, or a "puller" who helps create the ideal track for the race. Players can recruit and upgrade their wingmen, adding a strategic element to the game.

The game also includes a new vehicle upgrade system that allows players to modify and upgrade their vehicles based on three different categories: Tuner, Muscle and Exotic. Each category has its own unique features and abilities, allowing players to experiment with different vehicles and driving styles.

Need for Speed: Carbon also features police chases that are similar to those featured in Need for Speed: Most Wanted. Players must escape the police while racing their opponents and completing various missions.
