Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is a first-person shooter game developed by Infinity Ward and published by Activision. The game was released in November 2009 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Microsoft Windows. Modern Warfare 2 is the second installment in the Modern Warfare sub-series and continues the story of the first installment, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.

The main story campaign follows various characters, including Sergeant Gary "Roach" Sanderson of the British SAS and American soldier James Ramirez. Players will engage in a global conflict that includes battles against Russian ultranationalists, terrorist attacks and treachery within their own ranks. The campaign includes various missions that take place around the world, including Rio de Janeiro, Washington D.C. and Afghanistan.

Modern Warfare 2 refines the gameplay from the first installment, with improved shooting and movement mechanics and new weapons and equipment. The game also includes a controversial mission called "No Russian," in which the player infiltrates a terrorist group and takes part in a massacre of civilians at a Russian airport. This mission has generated considerable controversy and criticism, but has also been praised for pushing the boundaries of what video games can portray.
