With each new connection, we leave behind a digital trail that tracks our every move, our likes and preferences, and even what we don't like. And it doesn't just apply to humans. Today, most major cities are interconnected by sophisticated networks. Urban infrastructure is monitored and controlled by complex operating systems. In Watch Dogs, this system is called the Central Operating System (ctOS), and it can be said to control every piece of technology in the city, with a database of information about all its inhabitants.

You play as Aiden Pearce, a brilliant hacker and bully whose criminal past has led to a violent family tragedy. You find yourself on the hunt for those who have wronged your loved ones. In doing so, you'll be able to hack and monitor everything around you. This will allow you to manipulate elements connected to the city's network.

Gain access to ubiquitous security cameras, download personal information to locate your target, control traffic lights and public transport. Use all this and more to fight your enemies.

Hack the city

Watch Dogs takes place in a fully simulated, living metropolis where you have complete control over the city's infrastructure thanks to your smartphone. Using traffic light manipulation, you can trap your enemies in a mass crash. You can stop a train and use it to escape the police. A swift lift of a drawbridge can also provide a narrow escape from capture. Anything connected to ctOS can become your weapon.

Street justice

You're in downtown Chicago. In this part of the city, it's best to return violence with more violence. Aiden is an expert in this area... He dispatches his enemies with devastating blows from his telescopic baton, or in shootouts that rival the best of the shooter genre thanks to precise physics simulation. In total, you'll have access to more than 30 traditional weapons.
