NASCAR: Unleashed is a racing game based on the racing sport in the USA. Rather than a true simulation, it focuses on realistic controls, handling, and physics for a much more hectic and high-end arcade racing experience, complete with many typical arcade racing features such as power-ups, drifting, and the like. It has several features from both simulator-style racing games (e.g., NASCAR 09) and arcade racing games (e.g., Burnout). The game features authentic NASCAR tracks, but most of them have "broken free" from the track and into the surrounding urban area, hence the "Unleashed" aspect. The lanes remain and are important for repairing vehicles and gaining support. The game features a list of NASCAR "drivers" and their "15-star" cars, although they all handle the same. There is also a draft (reducing air resistance and increasing speed by driving behind other cars).
