Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor for PlayStation 3 is an action-adventure game released in 2014. Set in the world of J.R.R. Tolkien's "Lord of the Rings" and "The Hobbit", this game offers an original story set between the events of both works.

The main character of the game is Talion, the guardian of the Black Gate of Mordor, who is killed along with his family at the beginning of the game. Instead of dying, Talion is revived and united with the spirit of Celebrimbor, the elven smith who helped create the Rings of Power. Together, they embark on a journey of vengeance against Sauron's forces in Mordor.
