Sonic Forces is an action platformer developed by Sonic Team and published by Sega. The game was released in November 2017 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and Microsoft Windows. Sonic Forces focuses on the speed and action that is typical of games in the Sonic the Hedgehog series.

The game is divided into several level types based on three gameplay styles: Modern Sonic, Classic Sonic and Custom Hero. Modern Sonic focuses on fast-paced and 3D environments, Classic Sonic delivers a 2D platforming style of gameplay that is based on the classic Sonic games from the 90s, and Custom Hero allows players to create their own character and navigate through levels with unique abilities.
