Nioh 2 for PlayStation 4 is the sequel to the successful action RPG Nioh, developed by Team Ninja and published by Koei Tecmo in 2020. The game is set in the same dark and mystical period of Japan as its predecessor, but this time the story takes place before the events of the first game, offering players a new perspective on a history filled with war, political intrigue and supernatural creatures known as Yokai.

In Nioh 2, players take on the role of their own hero, which they can create and customize from the ground up in an extensive character editor. This main character is half Yokai, bringing a new dimension to the game with the ability to use supernatural abilities and transform into different Yokai forms that provide special attacks and advantages in combat. The gameplay remains true to its predecessor with an emphasis on challenging and strategic combat where each opponent requires a specific approach and where proper timing and positioning are key to success.

Nioh 2 expands and refines elements familiar from the first game, including a richer story, more locations to explore, a more diverse selection of weapons and an even more complex character development system. In addition to the main story, the game offers a rich selection of side missions, allowing players to delve deeper into the game's rich and detailed world.
