PS5 Returnal is a PlayStation 5 exclusive game from Finnish studio Housemarque, released in April 2021. It is a sci-fi action shooter with roguelike elements set on an alien planet.

The main character of the game is Selene, a space explorer who crashes on the mysterious alien planet Atropos. Selene must fight her way through an extremely inhospitable environment full of deadly alien creatures. Each failure leads to Selene dying and reappearing at the crashed spacecraft, with the planet's environment changing with each new life.

Combining third-person action with ballistic shooting, Returnal delivers intense combat. As the player, you must strategically navigate an alien environment where any number of actions or mistakes can cause death.

The game also takes advantage of PlayStation 5 specific features, including adaptive triggers and haptic feedback from the DualSense controller, providing an extra layer of immersion. Adaptive triggers can simulate the tension and recoil of weapons for a more realistic experience, while haptic feedback reacts to different actions and environments in the game.
