In Tropico 4, you take on the role of El Presidente, the tyrannical (or benevolent) dictator of the paradise island of Tropico. The world is changing and Tropico is moving with the times - world powers rise and fall and new players dominate the international market with new demands and offers - and you, El Presidente, face a whole new set of challenges. If you want to prevail over the naysayers and pessimists, you will have to find strong enough support among the people. Your decisions will shape the future of your nation and also - and above all - the size of your Swiss account.

Tropico 4 brings brand new missions on new maps and includes a number of fun elements to keep the action moving along nicely. You can even appoint ministers to help you push through even the most controversial proposals in government. But remember to keep your friends close and your enemies even closer, because everyone is up to something!

Tropico 4 also brings a new level of social interaction, as the PC version includes links to Facebook and Twitter. You can post comments on Twitter directly from within the game, and the game can automatically notify your friends for you when you've completed a mission or won an interesting trophy. You can even take pictures of your island and post them on your Facebook page, where you'll also be able to compare your dictator's rating in online leaderboards. All bad things are good for something if it helps bring your island into the 21st century!
