Dead Space is a sci-fi survival horror game that was released in 2008 for various platforms, including the Xbox 360. The game was developed by EA Redwood Shores, which later switched to the name Visceral Games.

The game is set in the future, where an engineer named Isaac Clarke embarks on the mining ship USG Ishimura after the ship loses contact. Upon arriving on the ship, he discovers that the crew has fallen victim to a horrific alien parasite that turns humans into necromorphs - mutated, aggressive creatures.

One of the key elements of Dead Space is the system of strategically chopping up enemies. Isaac's main weapon, the Plasma Cutter, can be used to precisely blast the limbs of necromorphs, which is often more effective than trying to destroy them through traditional body or head shots. This tactic adds another layer of strategy and tension to the game.
